Port Dickson is a back packer’s haven so budget accommodation is plentiful to cater for these group of tourist. Most of these back packers are local Malaysians but very often we will also see those from other western countries dropping in with their backpacks. Most if not all of these back packers prefers budget accommodation as they travel with a shoestring budget.
There are plenty of budget hotels available along the coast line and the oldest one that I can remember must be P.D. Motel. It is perfectly located just by the beach, and the it has the most romantic ambiance.
Of late, budget hotels have increased significantly. Some shop owners have converted their empty shop-lots to small sized budget hotels of about 30 rooms to cater for the budget travellers. These hotels charges less than 60 ringgit, which is less than 20 USD per night and most comes with air conditioning. Some better equipped ones even comes with attached bathrooms.
During school holidays, these hotels are normally fully booked so for those who plans to back pack to Port Dickson during holiday months. make sure you book at least 3 months in advance. For those who are impulse travellers, even if you come to Port Dickson but failed to find any budget accommodation, there is always the serene beaches where you can spend the night under the stars. Make sure you bring along some mosquito repellents as these creatures can really get hungry comes nightfall.
