There are at least no less than 15 budget hotels in PD, scattered in and around Port Dickson town. A couple of new ones are being renovated as I am writing so I guess the norm now is to go after those budget conscious travellers who wants to visit PD, but want a cheap place to stay. Budget hotels seems to be the most logical choice.
Most of these hotels are privately owned but there is at least one that I know is an off shoot of a famous beach resort here to capitalize on the overflow of visitors during peak seasons. Instead of turning away last minute bookings when their resort is full, they will re-direct their customers to their budget hotel. In most cases, people will accept as long as they have a place to stay. Furthermore, they will be happy to be on holiday below their budget.
The other budget hotels are privately owned and there are a couple that is doing so well that they have build additional ones.
Most of these hotels cost less than 70 ringgit for a night’s stay as compared to a couple of hundred if you prefer to stay in an international class hotel or resort. of course there will be no facilities like swimming pools or entertainment, but the rooms are clean and well kept and air conditioned.
Budget hotels in PD plays a vital backup role during holiday periods. No doubt, when visitors visit PD they will of course prefer to stay somewhere nice and easliy accesible to the beach, but when they are already here but can’t find a place to stay the night, try checking the various Budget Hotels in Port Dickson.
