It’s hard to define a Beach Resort and a Hotel in Port Dickson. Some hotels have integrated resorts and vice versa. When the word resort is mentioned, the natural impression one would get is a place that is quiet and serene and a place where you can relax without any bustle of the city crowd. When Beach Resorts are mentioned the impression would of course be sitting by the sea, listening to the gentle waves rushing to shore and enjoying the scenery of the sun going down. Due to tight competition, many hotels have branded their Hotels as Resorts. What you get is no different from what you will see in the cities. Most are high rise and the natural charm of a beach side resort is very much diluted. When inside, you will not actually feel you are staying by the sea.
There are some, but very limited old charm style of resorts remaining in Port Dickson. Mos has closed down being unable to compete with the International standard hotels. These old style resorts are usually operated as a family business and the land that the resorts were built has been with the family for generations. Though the remaining ones are mostly run down due to lack of maintenance, they are still well kept as they still enjoy good occupancy rate, especially for those who knows and have styled there before.
